We create courses with many different tools and can help you decide which one will best meet your needs. We can also use tools that you have so that you can maintain and update the course files internally in the future. Most of the time we use Lectora, Articulate, and Captivate but have experience with many others.

Do we get the source files?

Yes, all of them.

Can we maintain and update the course files ourselves?

Yes. We give you the source files so that you can make future edits if desired.

Can you create courses that work on tablets and mobile devices?

Yes. Just let us know what you’re looking for.

Can I send you our company colors and have you create a customized theme?

Yes. If you have a very specific brand that we need to match then please send us the details. You could also look through our themes and find one that you like and then we could change the color scheme.

How long will it take to create the course?

It really depends on the size and amount of interactions in your course. Send us your storyboard and we’ll get estimates to you within 1-2 days.

Course Component Definitions

When talking about eLearning course development, there are some industry terms you might not be familiar with. We’ve defined them here so we’re all on the same page when talking about budget and expectations for how a training course will work.

Presentational Interaction:

A basic interaction for the purpose of displaying information and allowing a learner to explore it.

Cognitive Interaction:

Application-based interaction that allows the learner to make decisions and apply information.

Upgraded Cognitive Interaction:

A cognitive interaction with elements such as custom artwork or gamification. Interaction may include features such as meters, scores, light illustration or advanced variable work. (Timers not included.)

Knowledge Check Slides:

Non-scoring interactive slides used for the purpose of checking the learner’s understanding.

Presentational Animation Slides:

Animation screens, synced with audio, and built within the designated authoring tool. (Articulāte® Storyline, Adobe® Captivate, Lectora®)

Static Slides:

Non-interactive, non-animated slides used to present information.

Level 1 Scenario:

A self-contained text-based scenario with unlimited attempts by the learner and basic feedback; it does not include scoring, impacts, or branching. Level 1 scenarios contain stock photos for media and characters.

Level 2 Scenario:

A self-contained, text and audio-based scenario with unlimited or up to 2 attempts by the learner, and 1 gamification upgrade, such as a meter, additive scoring, or story-based reaction. Level 2 scenarios include composite stock photos for backgrounds and characters, still image + voice presentation with 10 – 15 second character pose rotations.

Level 3 Scenario:

A self-contained text and audio-based scenario with the number of attempts by the learner determined by the client and up to 3 gamification upgrades (such as a meter, additive or consequential scoring, or story-based reactions and impacts). Level 3 scenarios include composite stock photos or simple illustration for backgrounds, still image + voice presentation with 2 – 5 second character rotations.

Standard Quiz:

A 5 – 15 question quiz using the authoring tool’s default functionality. It includes cumulative scoring and unlimited retries, with remedial feedback provided for each question. Questions may include stories, scenarios, or pictures and feel more like application exercises.

Custom Media Budget:

Hours designated for illustration, artwork, graphics, or simple stock media work.
